She had no idea! I love capturing these moments as a photographer, especially this Cliff House Proposal.
Mark proposed to Gerardina, or Gerry for short, on the cliffs of The Cliff House in Cape Neddick because they had friends who stayed before and loved it. She had no idea and had to be coerced into getting dressed in real clothes for the surprise shoot.
Mark had to tell her they had “fancy brunch reservations” because she was going to wear her hair in a ponytail and gym clothes that morning. With a little convincing he got her to dress up a little because he knew she would be upset if she was proposed to in gym clothes.
This surprise proposal went off without a hitch and Gerry was completely overcome with joy. She said yes!! The rocky cliffs and the waves washing over the rocks were a perfect backdrop for this Cliff House Proposal.
I hope I get to photograph their big day. They haven’t hired me yet.
