Brandon & Sarah were married at the Nonantum Resort on June 22nd. The subtle ocean theme was reflected in the teal blue color of the bridesmaid’s dresses and the groomsmen’s socks. While the sparkle and bright pinks added some summer fun.
Brandon’s amazing sense of humor came through during the entire day, as you’ll see in several images from the wedding.
Sarah was giddy with excitement, and her dress was classic, with the perfect amount of glamour and timelessness.
Emotions ran high as her parents entered the bridal suite one by one to see her fully dressed and support her just before the ceremony.
Brandon and Sarah chose a first look. Brandon waited on a dock, looking so dapper, while his bride-to-be walked up behind him and asked him to turn around. The look on his face as he turned to see his stunning bride was priceless, but it didn’t take anything away from the emotions that came as she walked down the aisle, when I caught him wiping a few tears away.We drove down the road a few minutes to visit the ancient St. Anne’s property and the breakwater, where the wedding party joined us for photos.
The ceremony was full of tears, as well as laughter, and concluded with their guests blowing bubbles as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.
Brandon pulls out the comedian again as he “works” to get the ring on his finger.
After the ceremony we took some time for family photographs, and Brandon’s father embraces Sarah as he welcomes her into the family.
The reception started with a sweet and romantic first dance. It was as though the rest of the room melted away and the only people in the entire universe were Brandon and Sarah, closely holding each other. The room was silent, and we could all feel the love radiating from them.
Toasts followed, with tons of laughter, and a heartfelt speech from Sarah’s father.
The cake was gorgeous, created by ConfectionArt out of York. Even the details on the cake were very personal to the couple, showing off an anchor that represents the ship that the couple were both working on at their jobs at BIW in Bath, Maine, when they first met and fell in love.
Following the cake cutting were special dances with Sarah’s father and Brandon’s mother. You can see the special and gentle relationships they share with their parents.
During the “Anniversary Dance”, Brandon stepped in for his grandfather who had very recently passed, and danced with his grandmother in his grandfather’s place. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, and you can tell just how much it meant to his grandmother by the look on her face; so proud of the gentleman her grandson had become.
The reception was amazing. So full of fun, love, kindness from this classy group of friends and family, and cutting loose on the dance floor!
As the party continued inside, Brandon and Sarah stepped away for a minute for a few special photographs on the Nonantum property which is always adorned with beautiful lights and gorgeous landscaping.
