Cat + Bret’s Waterfront Wedding

From the moment I met Cat and Bret for their engagement session, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special. They’re one of those couples who are just so down to earth, incredibly kind, and clearly perfect for each other. Spending the day with them in Rome, Maine, was an absolute joy—and what a day it was!

Let’s talk about style for a second. Bret? The man has impeccable taste, especially when it comes to shoes. He’s a huge sneaker guy, and honestly, I was obsessed with how every one of his groomsmen rocked fresh kicks to match the vibe. It was such a fun and personal touch that totally fit his personality.

During the getting ready moments, there was this particularly emotional part when Bret opened a letter from Cat. Tucked inside was a pin of Bret’s late father—such a thoughtful and heartfelt gift. It was a beautiful way to honor his dad.

Before the ceremony, I brought the wedding party into a nearby wooded area for some portraits. We ended up with some really cool and dramatic shots as I played around with some lighting. Then came one of the most epic entrances I’ve ever seen: the guys arrived to the ceremony by boat! How awesome is that? Definitely a Maine moment I won’t forget.

The ceremony itself took place at a private residence right on the water, and honestly, you couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. The water shimmered in the background, and the entire place had this peaceful, intimate energy. Cat looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and I loved how her bridesmaids added a vibrant pop of color with their gowns along with the beautiful flowers.

A Reception to Remember

Once the vows were said, it was time to celebrate! The reception was a blast. Great food, even better desserts, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night. This crew came to party and brought the energy! As the sun set and the night rolled in, we snuck away for a few final portraits. One of my favorite shots from the day was a photo of Cat and Bret with a bold red light glowing behind them. And of course we had to get a champagne pop picture!

Cat and Bret were an absolute dream to photograph—not just because they’re ridiculously photogenic, but because they’re so genuine and fun!.
