A Winter Wonderland
Missy and Eric hired me for their September wedding this year, but their true love is WINTER! Like a true Maine couple, they love the snow. They love it so much they asked for their engagement session to be photographed in the snow! Interestingly enough, we scheduled the session for January 20th, with the mindset that there MUST be snow by then, but with the understanding that we may have to delay the session if the ground was still bare. Well, the stars aligned, and through January 19th there was no snow on the ground, but on January 20th a storm was in the forecast. Not the kind that made it dangerous to travel in. In fact, the amount of snow was navigable and light enough that it wouldn’t affect any of my equipment, yet heavy enough that it would show beautifully in the photographs.
To say this couple lucked out and got a dream engagement session is an understatement! They made snow angels, had a snowball fight, and danced in the fields of Viles Arboretum in Augusta, Maine. I love their clothing choices, I love their energy, their childlike enthusiasm for winter, and their playfulness… and clearly their adoration of each other. These two make me smile and I am so happy I was able to photograph them in their element during a beautiful Maine “snow storm”. I look forward to photographing their wedding!
